As a Chilean-Irish American raised in a beach town on Long Island, she uses her artwork to explore identity and appreciation for the natural world. Informed by her early training with oil paint, her current work is centered around the use of light and color to convey the atmosphere of a scene. Her work in portraiture evolves around exploration of self and relationships with others. Through this communication with her viewer, Justine hopes to share her perspective of the world around her.

Justine Rose Araya-Colvin is currently a fourth year medical student who has cultivated a life-long art practice.
